The New Zealand Police Association (NZPA) is a service organisation dedicated to enhancing the well being of police. They have many products and services available to their members ranging from health insurance plans through to holiday homes, and we created a site to help manage them.
The Breathe team provided the NZPA with a Drupal content management system with which they could easily manage the content of their site. This included content specific pages and also gave them the ability to create ad-hoc pages and web forms on the fly.
A key challenge of the website was resolving the NZPA’s need for different access roles and permissions, for instance NZPA representatives were required to have more administration rights than standard members. We used the Drupal content management system to not only allow for a variety of users rights to be granted, but also restrict visitor permissions.
Another challenge was integrating the Drupal content management system with the NZPA’s in-house systems which we achieved by building an API and using web services.
The Police Association now has a site that is able to truly serve their members’ needs.
It allows its members to sign up for holiday homes online, use contact forms to talk to their representatives, find important documents, get discounts and the list goes on…
